Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Women's Apparel Designer to lead our American (mainstream) contemporary line. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of Western fashion trends, missy/contemporary fit and sizing, and proven experience taking a collection from concept to final delivery in a fast-paced import environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Collection & Trend Development: Design seasonal collections, color palettes, prints, and original concepts tailored to the American/Western women's market.
• Market Fit: Apply strong knowledge of Western fit, missy/contemporary sizing, and mainstream US retail trends.
• Production Oversight: Manage the end-to-end production process from proto samples to final delivery, following up as needed.
• Fit & Technical Execution: Attend fit sessions, review sample construction, and ensure design specs and garment technical details are accurately executed.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal production and design team members, as well as overseas vendors, to maintain quality and meet tight delivery deadlines.
Qualifications
• Experience: 5 to 7 years of women's apparel design experience, preferably designing for the American/mainstream market.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong expertise in Western fashion trends, garment construction, specifications, and offshore manufacturing processes.
• Attributes: Self-motivated, highly detail-oriented, and structured in a fast-paced work environment.
• Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to interface effectively with internal teams and offshore partners.
