A year ago today, South Korean septet BTS released the first part of their historic Love Yourself album trilogy on Sept. 18, 2017. Love Yourself: Her, fronted by the singles “DNA” and “Mic Drop,” went on to become the group’s first Top 10 album in the U.S, and preceded the release of May’s Love Yourself: Tear and August’s Love Yourself: Answer, each of which went to No. 1. All three albums made history on multiple occasions, and with each new record the act gained momentum to rapidly become recognized as one of the most popular foreign teams to ever touch down in the States. They're currently in the middle of their Love Yourself tour, which has sold-out over 30 shows on three continents.

The impact Love Yourself on both BTS’ career and the state of the global music scene will be felt for years to come, but in honor of the anniversary of its start here’s a look back at some of the numbers that have played a role in the series. All numbers were collected on Sept. 17, 2018.

1: The rank both Tear and Answer debuted at on the Stateside Billboard 200 chart upon their releases earlier this year. BTS is the first and only Korean act to have a chart-topping album in the States, and it's even more impressive as they repeated the feat twice in just three months. They are the first act in over a decade to hit No. 1 with predominantly non-English albums, ever since Il Divo’s 2006 album Ancora.

All three albums of the Love Yourself trilogy also went to No. 1 on South Korea’s Gaon chart and ranked high on other weekly album charts from around the world.

3: Amount of certified RIAA gold Love Yourself songs: Both “DNA” and “Mic Drop (Remix)” produced by Steve Aoki and featuring Desiigner off of Her and Tear’s “Fake Love” received the designation in 2018.
