지금으로부터 약 158년전인 1857년LA부근 San Andreas Fault지진대를 7.9도의 강진이 Southern California 치면서 역사상 큰 지진이란 비극을 불러왔습니다. 지진학자의 분석에 의하면 역사적으로 볼때 137년에서 약 200년 주기로 지진이 발생합니다. 또한 우리는 알아야 할 것이있습니다. 지진은 날씨가 덥고 추울 때 발생할 확률이 높아진다고 합니다. 이번 여름은 더욱 길고 뜨겁고 무더웠고 지금은 미국 LA지역에서 “엘리뇨 폭우” 전망 기사가 나오고 있습니다.
2015년 지금 우리들은 조심해야 됩니다. 왜냐면 21세기인 지금도 지진은 피할수없고 예측할수 없기 때문입니다. 하나님밖에 지진이 또 언제 들이닥칠지 우리는 아무도 모릅니다 그러나 언젠가는 온다는 것이 전문가들의 진술과 역사가 피할수없는 사실임을 우리는 알수있습니다. 지금 한인건설업체와 LA시 주택 • 커뮤니티투자개발국 등은 건물주들에게 내진 보강공사를 서두르라고 강조했습니다. 예측할수 없는 지진, 하지만 언제가는 꼭 올 지진을 대비해 우리는 준비해야 합니다!

Did you guys hear about the mandated ordinance that requires earthquake
retrofitting for thousands of buildings in Los Angeles that was passed
unanimously by the Los Angeles City Council on the 22nd of October?
Approximately 158 years ago, the devastating 7.9 earthquake caused by the
San Andreas Fault brought tragedy and destruction for those affected by it.
According to the seismologist, this San Andreas earthquake periodically recurs
in an approximate range of 137 to 200 years. Also, the fluctuating weather
conditions of our recent summer that we had worries us more because it is
said that earthquakes are more likely to occur when there is a lot of variations
in the temperature. In addition, it is said that the "El Nino" is said to come within
the near future.
We have to take precautions and safety actions. Even the advance technology
that we currently have cannot predict accurately and precisely when and where
the earthquakes will happen. Only God knows those details. The seismologist
however, studies the fault lines and seems to be certain that the recurrence of the
San Andreas earthquake is certain. The Korean Construction Company, Los Angeles
City Council, and community development investors are asking property owners to
take prompt actions and retrofit their buildings. With the unpredictable earthquake
coming our way, we have to be most prepared in order to overcome our possibly
the next biggest obstacle in the history of California.
