Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented semi entry-level Logistics Assistant to join our team. We are an importer and exporter of Food and Feed and Fertilizer products.
As a Logistics Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting in the transportation and distribution of goods, ensuring efficient and timely delivery to our customers. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication, quick learning skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Duties:
- Coordinate and monitor supply chain operations to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Plan and schedule shipments, ensuring optimal use of resources
- Collaborate with suppliers, carriers, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth logistics operations
- Manage relationships with service providers such as steam ship lines, rail roads, warehouse, transload sites, and other relevant parties.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory, and logistics activities
- Main objective is to free up time for the Directors so they can focus on sales and business development
Basic Requirements:
- Six months experience in any Logistics related field
- Proficient in using Excel and Email and Acrobat
- Math skills
Preferred Candidate will have:
- Knowledge of Quickbooks Accounting software
- Strong interest in agriculture and a general understanding of AgriBusiness. Highly preferable to have worked in the AgriBusiness industry for at least one year.
- Familiarity working with bulk products vs piece count products.
- Understanding of Import/Export Documentation and Procedures from experience working at a BCO
- Preference working in a small company with abundant opportunities for growth
